Since the Arkansas Week, Marcus Freeman’s team has been without Jaden Greathouse with what has been reported as a thigh injury. However, this has not stopped many Irish fans from believing that this absence has been fueled by alterior motives.
Why is Greathouse so important?
Jaden Greathouse came to Notre Dame in 2023 and played a significant role in a depleted reciever room in 2023. Then, when Chansi Stuckey departed and Mike Brown filled the recievers coach role, Greathouse saw his volume and production explode in the Irish’s run to the National Championship Game. As a result, many expected Greathouse to ascend to a star in the collegiate landscape. However that has not been the case as he has struggled to get on the statline all four games he played.
Why are ND Fans Worried?
Some people worry that the reason Greathouse is not playing is due to him sitting out to maintain a year of eligibility. Players can redshirt one year if they play in 4 or less regular season games that year.
My Take
Don’t be worried Irish Faithful. If Greathouse was transferring it would have been announced by now. He’s just getting his body ready to return to big time football where Notre Dame can not afford to drop a game to potentially return to the college football playoffs and potentially even to host a game.
