As many of you have seen, yesterday Brian Kelly was dismissed from his position as head football coach of LSU. After a season that started off so promising, only to then drop winnable games, the curtain has closed on Kelly’s time in Louisiana
What Went Wrong?
Ultimately, Kelly picked the wrong job to leave Notre Dame for. The guy who grew up in New England and coached his whole career in the Northeast thought he could make it big in the South. Ultimately, Kelly was a fish out of water in LSU. Whether it was the Southern Accent, unusual dance videos, media frustrations, or disappointing big game performances, Kelly inch by inch poisoned the LSU fan base against him. Something many Notre Dame fans expected, and for the weird portion, hoped for. Ultimately as people no matter how much you disagree with a coach’s decision or person’s decision in life you should never hope that it does not work out for them. Kelly was a man, flawed, but a man. He’s a husband, father, and a person. I truly hope that Kelly is able to land on his feet. If this is the end of the line, it remains to be seen. But nonetheless, the 50 million buyout will certainly ease the pains.
