A consistent motto of this Notre Dame Team has been building up year after year and maximizing each team’s potential. 2024 saw Notre Dame take a giant leap and reach the National Championship game under Marcus Freeman. So what does improvement look like in 2025.
An easy answer to this question would be winning the national championship. But to be truthful, winning or even reaching the big game would not be a determinant of a successful year for the Irish. Here’s a couple ways the Irish could show improvement.
Win in September
Over all three years of the Marcus Freeman tenure, the Irish have lost a game in September. With Texas AM and Miami in September a win here under the expectations and bright lights would see a massive improvement.
Improved Arial Attack
One of the major criticisms on the Notre Dame offense last year was the inability to take chunk plays out of the defense through the air. With a new starter and improved weapons like Malachi Fields, there is huge potential for growth through the air.
Mental Toughness Early On
At the beginning of the season last year Notre Dame had a bunch of mental lapses that led them to lose games against teams like NIU and let teams like Louisville stick around. An improved mental toughness will show great signs of improvement for this Irish Teams
Hopefully Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish can build on the momentum they created and wake up the echos by making it far in the revised playoff system and potentially winning it all. Go Irish!
