When in Doubt Throw to Beaux

Riley Leonard and Mike Denbrock followed this ideology in College Station Saturday Night. Whenever the Irish found themselves behind the sticks or in need of a spark Leonard’s first target was Collins. For example, the first drive of the game the Irish were faced with a third and long. Denbrock drew up a screen to Collins. Collins got close to the sticks, putting the Irish in field goal range for Jeter to tie up the game. This play will not be remembered. However, if Beaux does not maneuver and dance his way to the sticks Notre Dame would have to punt back to Texas A&M giving the Aggies all the momentum with the ball up three. Even more importantly to the outcome of the ball game was his contested side line catch at the 50 for 20 yards. However, Collins let the emotions get to him and almost received an unsportsmanlike penalty. The Irish doged a bullet and got away with it. If the Clemson transfer continues to put the work in and improve everyday, Collins will be in for a monster season and see his name climb up draft boards.
